Wasserfall Munting Architects is a Windhoek practice that prides itself in its dedication to the pursuit of design excellence and simple clarity in the architectural solutions it proposes.
Established by Jaco Wasserfall in 2004 as Jaco Wasserfall Architects the firm has been under the directorship of Jaco Wasserfall (MD) and Paul Munting since 2009. Both are active members of the Namibian Institute of Architects and are registered with the Namibian Council for Architects and Quantity Surveyors.
A truly Namibian firm, Wasserfall Munting Architects offers a wide range of professional expertise and technical resources to its clients. The firm’s business philosophy is aimed at maintaining the full spectrum of management and professional skills at principal level, supported by the best technology available and a creative staff component. High levels of skill in the fields of innovative design and presentation, technical documentation, contract administration, the general management of projects, and that of the practice itself ensure a service offering of a high order.
From concept vision through to the final delivery of the realised project Wasserfall Munting Architects is committed to fulfilling the aspirations and expectations of its clients by scrupulously understanding the project brief and formulating and managing an appropriate and specific response that accommodates stakeholders, the particulars of the project context and the professional design team.
The firm’s design philosophy is always to try and transcend the ordinaries of the project brief in an attempt to pursue the poetic and artistic dimensions of architecture. Work is founded on principles of design efficiency and buildability within a truthful and practical design idiom.
Given the relative isolation of the local industry Wasserfall Munting Architects endeavors at every opportunity to subject its work to peer review as a means of benchmarking it against regional and global standards. This custom has led to a number of awards being conferred upon the firm and, together with its history of intermittently partnering with architects outside Namibia, provides instrumental criticism while signposting opportunities for further development.
